Продолжительность: 00:46:18

For pond supplies: 01661844005 This is a compilation video of a 4 part series I uploaded a while back showing every stage of building and explaining how to build a pond for fish. It shows all the various steps taken to make a fish pond which is safe and accessible.. I have also uploaded a complete video of a school wildlife pond with dipping platform and hibernaculum - it also shows all stages of construction.. In this fish pond video, the start of each section is at the following time: 0:06 Digging the hole and laying the underlay / liner 7:44 Installing the cascade 24:02 Installing the edging, pump and filter 36:16 Rockery and finished pond with pump and filter details 45:32 Out-takes Pump is Oase Aquamax Eco 8000 and the filter is an Oase Filtoclear 30000. The design of this pond allows for good access and different positioning of the pump for winter and summer positions. Check out my pond construction playlist for pond building guides covering many different types of ponds including wildlife ponds. fish ponds and koi ponds. Does the cement effect the water chemistry?

What a very informative video, such a lot of thought and work gone into both the construction of the pond and of making the video... Thank-you. My Husband and I built a pond in our back garden 8 years ago not considering that our neighbours newly planted twisted willow sapling would grow into a large tree it is today. Consequently we have a fight on our hands with the leaves that it sheds each autumn. Would the answer be a pond skimmer, if so what size would we need. Our pond holds 16,000 ltrs water. Its wide, irregular shape means putting a net over would be very difficult as would removing the dropped leaves. We recently noticed a large hole in the butyl lining (looks like vermin has eaten at it!!) It is on the higher shelf so was easy for my Husband to stick some spare lining onto it. Unfortunately the patch became unstuck despite using special pond lining adhesive so we keep the water level below this patch but would appreciate any advice as to the best type of adhesive to use so we can fill our pond up completely. Thank-you for reading this Ruth

Great video. I really enjoyed watching and learned a lot. I was just wondering what you would use to automatically keep the level of the water at the desired height. I just want the water feature and not thinking of having any fish in the pond. It's more just a cascading water feature. Thanks again for the great advise.

Great instruction, very knowledgable and well spoken. Succinct not a lot of extra jibber jabber that confuses. Easy on the ears. ( the eyes too ;-) ) Like the out takes also!

We are trying to build a cascading waterfall with a 7-8 foot drop into a small pond in our back yard. Can you advise as to what size pump, type of tubing that leads from pond back to top of fall, filter, etc. Would appreciate your advise. Thanks

Hi, at 12:25, what is the material you used to fix the rocks on waterfall? is maybe clay? ...if yes, how did you work it?....mix with water to make it more soft and workable? Tnx

I was building ponds in the early 90's, and I must say without a doubt. This is the best how to build a pond video out there. You are a fantastic teacher and your attention to detail is a great asset. If anyone wants to know how to DIY a pond watch and watch again. Thank you for your knowledge.

Excellent job, Guru. By the way, I need your help, please! I'm building my own cascade + stream + pond with preformed liner. The distance between my pond and cascade (stream) is around 20 feet. My doubt is what kind of pump should I install and how many GPH? How much I' would pay for that you recommend me? Ps: My pond's capacity is around 130 gallons. Thank you!!

Hi, some good tips, never thought about moving pump to shallow area :-) hmm as you used a lot of mortar, yet no g4 sealer? Can you or some 1 also advise just inherited a number of large gold fish and orfe`s, so have the nod from the wife to extend a 520 gal pond to 1170. As most on a budget, installed now is the firestone 1mm. but been looking at this 3 ply liner at 1/4 the price. guess answering my own question u get what you pay for. So looking at the greenseal .75mm. Regards

I really like your video. I have an existing concrete pond, 10'x8', about 1 to 2' deep, with a number of water reeds and it is under a tree canopy so the leaves accumulate on the bottom. I want to add an "easy to install" waterfall 3' high and 3' wide cascade. I wonder if I have enough water water to use the pump in your video of about 3000GPH. What problems will I encounter? How do I keep the much from clogging the pump?

Hi PondGuru, love all your video's they have been very informative in helping me with my own build. I have constructed a 20m stream with a large preformed reservoir at the foot of the falls with 6000 Oase pump for circulation. The system has been running for almost 2 years now with very few issues. There is a mains water inlet on the tank with float which compensates for evaporation etc. I am now wanting to contour the stream to create over spills etc and to shape the flow of water a bit better. I am planning to use waterfall foam which was shown on similar videos here on Youtube. My question to you is do I have to use the foam on dry materials or can it be used on damp components?

does the cascade reuse the water from the pond
Написал: waterflo35, 03.09.2014, 16:32

Hi there, simply an excellent video thank you. I notice on videos from across the pond (in the US) they use spillways to provide a more uniform cascade but these add quite a lot to the cost of a waterfall. There are waterfall boxes that you can purchase in England and you place filtration material within the box. So, I'm making a wild life pond with waterfall. You don't seem to use a spillway as such presumably you just wedge the outlet pipe in the rocks to avoid a hose effect occuring (?), Additionally what size piping are you using to the top of the waterfall. Many thanks.
